Terms of Service

These terms cover the Verbada app and the website at verbada.com. They are a plain-language template for the product as it is planned. Have your own lawyer review them before you rely on them.

The service

Verbada lets you put a pause in front of apps you choose on your own phone. To open a locked app, you say a short affirmation, which is checked on the device. A backup PIN, a daily skip limit, and a time-based pause are there for moments when speaking is not practical. Optional affirmation text can be generated from a short prompt. The built-in library works without that.

Verbada is a self-help tool for your own attention. It is not medical care, therapy, or a crisis service. It does not diagnose or treat any condition.

Using Verbada

You may use Verbada on devices you are allowed to control, and only to pause apps for yourself. You agree not to:

  • use the app to monitor or restrict someone else without a lawful right to do so;
  • break into accounts, devices, or services that are not yours;
  • interfere with the app, the website, or the systems that serve them;
  • use the app for anything unlawful.

On iPhone, app selection uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls, and those platform rules also apply. On Android, the pause depends on Usage access and the permission to display over other apps, which you grant in system settings.

Subscriptions, the trial, and auto-renewal

When Verbada is available in the stores, paid access is a subscription billed by Apple or Google, not by this website. The planned prices are $4.99 per month and $39.99 per year (about $3.33 per month). Prices are in US dollars and can change; the price you confirm in the App Store or Google Play at purchase is the one that applies to that purchase.

Both plans include a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the store will charge the plan you chose and the subscription will renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings or your Google Play subscription settings. Canceling stops the next renewal. Access generally continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. To restore a purchase on a new phone, use the store's restore-purchases flow while signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account. RevenueCat is used so the app can tell whether your entitlement is active.

Not medical advice

Affirmations, pauses, and anything else in Verbada are for general wellbeing and habit support. They are not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

The website

The site describes the product and links to these terms, the privacy policy, and support. Store buttons say “Coming soon” until a real store URL is added. The waitlist opens an email to support@verbada.com. We may update the site, the app, or these terms as the product changes.

Intellectual property

The Verbada name, the site, and the app's design and copy belong to their owner. You receive a personal, non-exclusive right to use the app under these terms and the store's terms. You keep the affirmations you write.

Disclaimers

Verbada is provided as available. We do not promise that the pause will work on every app, on every OS version, or without interruption. Screen Time, Family Controls, Android permissions, speech recognition, and store billing depend on Apple, Google, and your device. We do not promise a particular outcome for your habits, mood, or time spent.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Verbada and its owner are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or the site. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for Verbada in the three months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud or for injury caused by gross negligence where the law forbids that limit.

Store terms

If you downloaded Verbada from the App Store or Google Play, that store's terms apply to the download, billing, and refunds. If those terms conflict with these terms on billing, the store's terms win.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. If you keep using Verbada after the update, the new terms apply to that later use. Questions: support@verbada.com.
